February 3, 2011. This week I read another 20 pages. I read poems about nature and love. After reading her poems I really liked one about love. It really stood out to me. That I Always Did Love
That I did always love
I bring thee Proof
That till I loved
I never lived—Enough—
That I shall love alway—
I argue thee
That love is life—
And life hath Immortality—
This—dost thou doubt—Sweet—
Then have I
Nothing to show
But Calvary—
To me she is saying that she has loved him and she has proof of it. When she did love him, he brought joy to her life. In the end one day he might doubt her love and when he does she might as well use death like Jesus did to show how much she really did love him. I really like her poems. I feel like I can really connect to them! :) January 24, 2011. I have selected Emily Dickinson to read. I choose to read Emily Dickinson Poems. So far i have read 20 pages. I read poems that Emily wrote about life. I read about her life and just about life in general like people who want success crave it more than people who have it. I read about life and how life is life and even if you fail at something its not always that bad. A connection that I'm making towards her poems is that a lot of them relate to me and how I feel about life. She writes with a lot of emotion and you can really connect and and agree with what she is saying in her poems.
